Limor Schwartz is Vice President, Program at Leading Edge, where she brings together program strategy, organizational learning, and systems thinking to help strengthen the way Jewish nonprofits develop their people and organizations. She is especially passionate about turning good ideas into meaningful, sustainable practice – and believes that the best programs are the ones that help people do something differently, not simply learn something new. She has a particular talent for being simultaneously the person asking the five-year strategic question and the person figuring out how to get it into Airtable by Friday.
Prior to Leading Edge, Limor held progressively senior leadership roles spanning programs, operations, strategy, and organizational innovation at The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies. She led the development of organization-wide systems for project management, program planning, impact measurement, and collaboration, while also overseeing and redesigning programs to better respond to the evolving needs of the field. She is particularly proud of creating structures that helped the organization move from simply delivering programs to being more intentional about capacity building, learning, and impact.
Before joining The Network, Limor was the Director of Raleigh-Cary Jewish Family Services, where she helped transform a small, growing organization by building its client management and data systems from the ground up, developing new programs and operational structures, and strengthening its ability to demonstrate impact to funders and the community. Her career began in direct social work, an experience that continues to shape how she leads: with curiosity about people, a belief in meeting people where they are, and a healthy skepticism of any system that makes people's lives harder.
Limor holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University and a professional certificate in Implementation Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a lifelong believer that there is almost always a better way to organize a spreadsheet, a process, or a meeting — and is happiest when she gets to figure out what it is.
Outside of work, Limor loves spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, gardening, and reading. She is also an enthusiastic, if not entirely credentialed, foodie who believes that trying a new restaurant, growing your own herbs, and attempting to recreate a great meal at home all count as hobbies.
