Emma Canter (she/her) is a relationship builder, former Jewish summer camp kid, and enthusiastic learner, serving as Associate, Outreach & Engagement at Leading Edge.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Emma was the Engagement and Communications Associate at the Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville. In this role, she designed and executed programs that brought together individuals across geographic, generational, and denominational lines, fostering meaningful connection to Jewish community at a local level.
Across her work, Emma has focused on bringing people and communities closer together, pushing professional staff and lay leadership to have important, hard conversations, and combining programmatic experience with a deep commitment to people and talent. Her experience in educational, nonprofit, and corporate settings has reinforced her belief in the power of relationships to build strong, connected communities.
A lifelong Jewish professional and learner, Emma earned her B.A. from Brandeis University, where she studied Psychology, Gender Studies, and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies.
Now based in Nashville, Emma remains a Chicagoan at heart. She is one half of a Jewish professional power couple with her wife, Char, and lives in a Moishe House where they’ve built a vibrantly queer and Jewish home along with their bunny, Archie.
