Elyse Rosen

After nearly 30 years as an attorney in private practice, Elyse Rosen left her career as a partner at one of Montreal’s leading litigation boutiques to take on the leadership of the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA as its CEO. Prior to taking on this role, Elyse was involved as a lay leader in a number of Montreal Jewish community organizations, and sat on board of the Montreal chapter of the Israel Cancer Research Fund, various advisory committees of Solomon Schechter Academy, the Y’s Fitness and Membership Services committee, and Federation CJA’s Allocations and Agency Relations committee. The daughter of a Holocaust survivor, she is passionate about Jewish continuity and is deeply committed to ensuring that Montreal remain a city that provides the community with meaningful opportunities to engage in Jewish life for many generations to come. Elyse has a profound attachment to the Y, and affectionately refers to it as her “Cheers”—a place where everyone knows her name. Her aim is to cultivate that same sense of belonging in every member of the Montreal Jewish community, regardless of age, background, or degree of observance, and to ensure that the Y serves as a hub where they can connect with one another, celebrate their rich heritage, and share their common values.
